There is something to “living true to who you are” and not to who you think you need to be or feel you need to look like so you can be some way for somebody else… Sounds so complicated, right? It doesn’t have to be. We learned to be that way. We can also unlearn it.

I know it can feel like it takes enormous courage to be true to yourself. I get it. Yet this I know to be true also. It is so much harder to pretend or make myself up to be something or somebody I am not. Hiding in plain sight is too much work.

My real lesson in business and life is first to accept and embrace who we are, accept what we can and cannot do or be or cannot be and… feel the freedom to share, without apology, the gifts that are uniquely ours to give.

What can you do today…what small, small step can you take now that’s says

  • “This is me…and I am ok with that” or
  • “My strength isn’t ______. That’s ok. I need help with that” then go ask someone for it or
  • Look in the mirror and tell yourself how proud of yourself you are for _________(think of a simple victory this week…. 🙂 even

if it to do this exercise in the mirror! :))

Invest small moments at least once a day in being authentic to yourself, your family friends, and your work team. Not only are you robbing yourself and us of the best of you… your business life will be simpler and successes more productive when you show up true to you.
